What a difference a recession can make!

Boy, it's been almost a year since my last post. Seeing as how the entire planet came unglued during that time, it isn't too surprising. Like many folks I was hunkered down weathering the storm, and not focusing much time on energy conservation, other than installing predictive thermal controls on my heating system (measures outside temperature, inside demand, and sets the boiler temperature accordingly -- plus it automatically runs the circulator pumps during the summer to ensure the seals stay lubricated). Honeywell Outdoor Temperature Compensator The claim is that by using these control the total heat bill can be reduced about 15% WITHOUT lowering thermostat temperature.
